Bristol City fired up after late win against West Bromwich Albion

00:03a massive win in the push for promotion

00:07and the playoff race as well

00:09they move up to fifth in the championship table now

00:12with a last gasp winner against West Bromwich Albion at home

00:15obviously fellow contenders as well for those playoff places

00:20what do you sort of take from the game

00:22from Bristol City's recent form

00:23you know we mentioned consistency had been a concern

00:26throughout the season

00:27but it seems like they've turned a corner with that

00:29and you know when it's mattering most

00:31they are getting wins over the line now

00:33they certainly are yes

00:35and I mean let's be honest

00:36it was a very last gasp win against West Bromwich Albion

00:38in this fixture

00:39Hayden Roberts scoring with pretty much the last kick of the game

00:4296 minutes on the clock I think it was

00:45but to be honest I think Bristol City deserved the win

00:47they had gone ahead in the second half

00:48Naki Wells getting on the score sheet

00:50and even though Alex Moe had equalised for West Brom

00:53towards the end

00:54Bristol City always looked like a side who had the belief

00:57they could still go on and win it

00:58and I mean yes

00:59it didn't look like it for a large part

01:01at a time because it was getting on

01:03but they still had that belief

01:04and I think that's sort of encapsulated

01:06their recent form of late

01:07in terms of

01:08they've gone into games sort of believing

01:11and have had this confidence

01:13that they didn't I think have earlier in the season

01:15and that led to a lot of goals conceded

01:18later on as opposed to scoring them later on

01:20so certainly they have turned a corner

01:22obviously will come on to West Brom soon enough

01:24but they're now not doing so well under Tony Moe

01:27where they're slipping down away from the playoffs

01:28it's getting difficult for them to get back into it

01:30but for Bristol City

01:31they're just absolutely flying

01:32into fifth now

01:34not obviously guaranteed a playoff spot yet

01:36all the teams above them

01:39are at least guaranteed a playoff spot

01:40if you look at Sunderland

01:41upwards they're now all guaranteed to be in the playoffs

01:44Bristol City certainly have done their chances

01:47absolutely no harm with that win

01:49and obviously in getting that win

01:51they've also damaged a fellow playoff hopeful as well

01:54so if you look at the table too

01:56they're now on to 63 points

01:58they're three ahead of Middlesbrough

02:00and they're also four ahead of Coventry City

02:02but Coventry City also have a game in hand

02:04so they could certainly come back into the picture

02:06a little bit too

02:07but West Brom now sat on 57 points

02:09I know you'll come on to that Charles

02:10but it's going to be tricky for them

02:12but Bristol City though

02:13the only thing is they do have some tricky fixtures remaining

02:16and gain some sides above them in the table

02:19but with that confidence

02:20and a win like that

02:21you can't sort of begrudge them

02:22thinking going into these games

02:24yeah we can still get anything from them

02:26and still be in amongst it

02:28and I think that was a crucial game as well

02:30just because it was against someone a bit below them

02:32and obviously they've got harder games to come as well

02:34and the fact that they didn't draw that game

02:37they didn't lose that game

02:38they won it

02:39they got the three points

02:40and they've just given themselves the confidence

02:42but a great performance

02:43and Liam Manning certainly got this team playing well

02:45and they're getting goals from different players

02:47across the park as well

02:48they're all starting to have really good seasons

02:49towards the end of it

02:50but as you say there

02:51for West Brom

02:52it's becoming increasingly tricky

02:54under Tony Moeber isn't it

02:55they're starting to slip away a little bit

02:57after what had been a promising

02:58well most of the season

03:00had been quite promising to be honest

03:01yeah I mean they're the team

03:04that's been in the playoff race

03:05you know maybe not obviously

03:06the top of the table

03:08the top echelons

03:09but they've been in their position

03:10five, six

03:11for pretty much 90% of this campaign

03:15obviously they have the managerial change

03:16Tony Moeber comes in

03:18and you think yes

03:19his experience will

03:20hopefully get them over the line

03:22in some games

03:22make them tougher to beat

03:24you know you look at the likes of the

03:25the draw away at Leeds United

03:27away at Burnley

03:28these are great points

03:30in the race for playoffs

03:31but then you have to start beating

03:33teams like Hull City at home

03:35and they fail to do so

03:36drawing 1-1

03:37you know Millwall away

03:39these games you have to go to

03:41and get points

03:41you know Plymouth away

03:42and they go and lose these ones

03:44and then

03:45you know the recent form suggested all

03:47I mean Norwich

03:48Sunderland

03:49Bristol City

03:50you know teams up

03:51in and around

03:52the playoff race

03:53the ones that you really need to win

03:55and as you say Bristol City

03:57have made those in rows

03:58they have

03:59took three points

04:00when they needed to

04:01against those

04:01surrounding sides

04:03West Brom haven't

04:04that's the difference

04:05that's the key areas right now

04:07you know

04:07three losses on the bounce

04:09you know not a win since

04:10you know a month

04:11since their win

04:12over QPR

04:13which was their last

04:14in the championship

04:14I mean

04:15slowly they're finding

04:17some struggles

04:18with Tony Moeber

04:19I know fans are getting

04:20a bit frustrated

04:20it's all become a bit flat

04:22it's all become a bit

04:23of a tougher watch

04:24for Albion fans

04:25three losses on the bounce

04:27I mean

04:27they are slipping out

04:29of the playoff places

04:30and you know

04:31we said how tight

04:32the race was before

04:33West Brom need to make sure

04:34they pick up

04:35really really fast

04:37in their next game

04:37against Watford

04:39but yeah

04:42a pretty one
