00:04The FTSE 100 fell sharply on Wednesday morning after a new wave of Donald Trump's tariffs came into effect,
00:11including a 104% levy on Chinese goods.
00:15The index fell by 2.34% in early trading, or by 186 points to reach 7,724.29 points shortly after opening,
00:27wiping out most of the gains made on Tuesday.
00:31It came after another drop in some Asian stock markets overnight, with Japan's Nikkei falling by 3.93%.
