00:00Good morning, everybody.

00:02So, yeah, Turncoat, AKA Lewis Thornton,

00:05was gunned down late last night,

00:07along with his entourage and two teenage girls,

00:10Caitlin Thomas and Hersha Andani,

00:12fans of his who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

00:16Now, the rapper's manager seems to think the murders

00:19were fallout from some very public rap beef.

00:22I'm more of a Yacht Rock guy myself,

00:24so someone might have to help me out with that.

00:26Well, embarrassed to admit, but while everybody has been obsessed

00:29with the Drake-Hendrick Lamar feud,

00:31I have been tracking Turncoat's beef with Tariq Ward.

00:34You know Tariq Ward, Brooklyn-based rapper.

00:38They had a very contentious run-in onstage at Rolling Loud,

00:41a hip-hop festival that turned into a full-on war

00:44with both men dropping brutal diss tracks every week.

00:47You're familiar with diss tracks.

00:48Now be nice.

00:50All right, so they were trading insults.

00:52Was that really motive for murder?

00:53Well, more than just insults,

00:55Tariq accused Turncoat of being a pedophile,

00:57high on his own supply of high school hotties was the lyric,

01:00so Turncoat threatened to put a bullet in Tariq's ear,

01:02at least then he'd have an excuse to be tone deaf.

01:04All right.

01:05Well, is there any reason to believe these threats

01:07are anything more than bluster?

01:08Well, both Tariq and Turncoat have rap sheets.

01:11Their lyrics point to an affiliation with rival gangs.

01:14Tariq has a litany of weapons charges

01:17and served 18 months for aggravated assault a few years back.

01:20Yeah, Jubal, you're gonna wanna see this.

01:22Okay.

01:23That's one kind.

01:24I guess, in one case,

01:26that is not one kind.

01:27I'm the best friend in Tariq's ear,

01:28I want him to be an expert in Tariq's ear.

01:29At least once,

01:30I'm the best friend in Tariq's ear.

01:31So, as a man and a man,

01:32you've got to keep him covering the way.

01:33On an interview with blinking and a little bit more,

01:34I think,

01:35you've got to keep your eyes on.
