00:00European equity markets had a calmer start on Tuesday, opening in the green after a four-day

00:07losing streak. It follows a punishing trading session on Monday, recorded as the worst since

00:14the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Investor sentiment still remained cautious, however, with US

00:22President Donald Trump's global tariffs and uncertainty over his next moves weighing on

00:26confidence. Asian markets also saw a rebound, although some analysts believe it may only

00:33be temporary. Beijing has declared it will fight to the end in a trade war with the US

00:40after Trump threatened to impose an additional 50% tariffs on all Chinese imports. Trump

00:46confirmed that he has no plans to suspend the global tariffs. Meanwhile, Europe is working

00:52on an agreement on a list of US goods to target in its response.
