00:00If you will see, a lot of progress, even in the material sense, happens only by inviting

00:12That which we call as discipline, even in the loose sense, is nothing but an invitation

00:16to pain.

00:17Is there discipline without pain?

00:20You have to get up at some point in the morning, doesn't that involve pain?

00:26Pleasure is to keep sleeping even after the alarm has rung.

00:31Is that not pleasurable?

00:34So all discipline is nothing but pain.

00:37Oh, it's very well-directed pain.

00:40It's very discrete pain.

00:41But nevertheless, all discipline involves pain.

00:44While random and mindless pain will not help you, at the same time, there can be no discipline

00:50without pain.

00:53And there can be no progress without discipline.
