00:00My name is Bill Bradley. I'm an extreme endurance athlete. I've conquered some of the most extreme

00:13endurance events in the world, but there's one race I just can't seem to finish.

00:30The Arrowhead 135 starts in International Falls, Minnesota, right on

00:36the Canadian border. It's the coldest spot in the continental U.S., and I

00:41haven't finished it in eight tries, and I'm pretty good at this stuff. So that's

00:46why I'm training in a meat locker. We sure got it this year. It's gonna be an

00:51easy one, only minus 50 this year. It's a brutal cold forecast. Somebody's gonna

00:57get frostbite. When it's that big minus degrees, they're all in their house, and

01:02we're out there racing. Who the hell wants to go out there except the crazy

01:05people? 12 hours at 250 calories an hour, that's 3,000 calories. Why am I doing this?

01:12There's all kinds of hobbies that would be really pleasant to be doing right now

01:16instead of what I'm doing. It separates you from being normal. I'm not interested

01:23in living my life on the couch. You guys know what the temp's supposed to be tonight? Yeah, it's buried at

01:27negative 20. It's as hard as it goes. It's the wrong thermometer for this. Yeah, it's not an Arrowhead one.

01:32Sometimes I don't really enjoy a race until it actually gets really hard. I

01:37went from being a multi-millionaire to bankruptcy, like, overnight. I do want to

01:44be something to my kids, you know? I always want to be something that they

01:47look up to. What else is there out there that I think is impossible?
