JUST IN: Tim Walz Says He Is 'Not Thinking' About Running For President In 2028

On CNN's "State of the Union" on Sunday, Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) was asked if he would run for President in 2028 or seek a third term as governor.

00:03They're leading right now.

00:04So quick question.

00:05I would tell everybody, you better get with them.

00:07Yeah.

00:08Quick question because we've got to go.

00:09But you said you're not going to run for the Senate seat there.

00:12Are you going to run for a third term for governor?

00:14Are you possibly going to run for president in 2028?

00:19Well, I'm certainly thinking about running again in Minnesota if that's what they want.

00:23I am not thinking about running in 2028.

00:25And my advice to folks is if in this moment you're planning for 2028,

00:29you're going to get rolled by the people in the streets.

00:31You just need to be out there making sure you're helping

00:33and doing things like Cory Booker is doing, doing things like Bernie Sanders AOC,

00:37things that we see people out talking to folks.

00:39So for me, I'm going to get through this legislative session.

00:41If the folks in Minnesota want me, I'm kind of inclined to do that.

00:45And I just want to play my part to make sure we cannot afford to allow Donald Trump

00:49or his successor to go forward because you're seeing the pain.
