00:00You probably didn't think of the small and cute creature that was just raised by a golf ball.

00:07It's so cute!

00:12No, it's not.

00:16Let's start the story of the sunny California.

00:19These people have no idea that there is a creature swimming in the sea.

00:26Here they are, the seabirds.

00:31They know everything.

00:35Because of their taste, the ocean floor turned into a desert.

00:41But this place was different back then.

00:48Fifteen years ago, the kelp forest was flooded.

00:53They are the OGs of California's waterways.

01:01The kelp forest helps clean up the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

01:08It is also home to various marine animals.

01:12Back then, this paradise was full of life.

01:16Until the sea urchins tasted and ate the kelp leaves.

01:22Luckily, there were sea stars that ate the sea urchins.

01:26The problem was, when the sea water got hot, the sea stars died.

01:35As a result, the sea urchins population grew.

01:41The kelp were paralyzed.

01:44They have no competition with the sea urchins.

01:48The sea urchins wiped out the entire kelp forest.

01:57They ruled this territory.

02:02No one could stop their taste.

02:06Oh, there's more.

02:09There is a place where the sea urchins found their enemy.

02:17This is the territory of the sea otter.

02:22They are fierce sea hunters.

02:24They are the guardians of the kelp forest.

02:27Their favorite snack is the sea urchin.

02:58One day, a sea otter eats 1,000 sea urchins.

03:07That's their job, to control the population of the sea urchins.

03:10Meanwhile, the sea otters can rest the taste of the sea urchins

03:15and return the vast kelp forest.

03:25Wherever there are sea otters, there is a kelp forest

03:29and there is order under the ocean.

03:34That's how life is here.

03:36It's complicated, but it's fun.
