The trailer for the highly anticipated remake of "The Naked Gun" just dropped ... and two people with connections to the Leslie Nielsen classic tell TMZ they have some love/hate reactions.

00:00Everybody's excited for the Naked Gun movie!
00:04The new version.
00:05Everybody except for the guy who directed the original.
00:09The trailer for the Naked Gun reboot starring Liam Neeson drops.
00:13It is freaking hysterical.
00:15What do you want, little one?
00:19Your ass.
00:20He's got a very particular set of skills.
00:23There's one person who isn't that entertained by it,
00:25and that's the director of the original, David Zucker.
00:28And David, who also wrote and directed Airplane, is not involved.
00:32Paramount owns it, and apparently he wrote another Naked Gun script in 2018,
00:36which they shot down.
00:38So I think it's a little sour grapes.
00:41But he did watch the new trailer.
00:43And he regretted it immediately.
00:44He said it was like watching Two Girls, One Cup.
00:47We have a clip, and we can't show it.
00:50But Seth MacFarlane's behind this new version,
00:53and he's definitely giving a nod to the first movie.
00:56So O.J. was in the original.
00:58And in the reboot, it's a lot of the kids of the original.
01:01Hi, Daddy. It's me, Frank Jr.
01:03Love you.
01:04Hey, Dad. Boy, do I miss you.
01:07And then O.J.'s character son looks at his picture.
01:11So we'll see if Liam Neeson can pick up where Leslie Nielsen left off.

01:17The Pink Panther.
01:18That's Steve Martin.
01:22Wrong old guy with white hair.
01:24Rest in peace, Leslie Nielsen.
01:26And that's it.

01:29I found that O.J.'s acting was a lot like his murdering.
01:33He got away with it, but nobody believed him.
