00:03NHL legend Alex Ovechkin is now just three goals away from breaking Wayne Gretzky's all-time
00:08scoring record.
00:09The 39-year-old sensation has been one of hockey's top players ever since entering the
00:13league in 2004.
00:15Ovechkin appears poised to make hockey history before the regular season concludes, with
00:19seven games remaining.
00:20Amid the growing anticipation, Ovechkin's wife, Anastasia Shubskaya, known as Nastasia
00:26traveled from Boston to North Carolina to attend the Capitals-Hurricanes game in person.
00:30When Ovechkin scored, the cameras captured her emotional reaction, adding to the excitement
00:35of the moment.
00:36Anastasia, who shares two sons, Sergei and Ilya, with Ovechkin, was seen sporting a black
00:41number, 8-hat, as she celebrated her husband's latest goal.
00:44She shared a high-five with Capitals owner Ted Leonsis and shook hands with NHL commissioner
00:48Gary Bettman during the celebration.
00:50On Wednesday, the NHL announced Ovechkin scored a goal on consecutive days for the 60th time
00:55in his regular season career, becoming the fifth player in league history to achieve
00:59that feat.
