00:00The one thing, you know, whether I'm talking to my dad or my kids or my friends, I think

00:06everybody wants me just to be super positive all the time, but one of my coping mechanisms

00:14is being sarcastic.

00:17So I'm like, well, that's going to be D-Day, not in front of my kids, I don't say it, but

00:20I'm like, but that's D-Day.

00:22What do you mean?

00:23We can't talk, you know, like, and they're like, Teddy, no, we need constant positivity.

00:27Like, sometimes I feel like constant positivity can be toxic, for me at least, because I would

00:34rather joke about it and then have the best possible outcome than be completely in denial

00:42about it and then have my heart broken.

00:44We're living under the same roof.

00:46I'm in the primary, and he is in one of the guest rooms.

00:51I mean, it's hilarious.

00:53We'll text.

00:54Like, both of us go to bed super early, but we'll text and be like, do you want to work

00:57out in the morning?

00:58Do you want to do this?

00:59And there's just, it's fun now.

01:03Like, it's, it's, I can't complain about it because it was all the things that I loved

01:08about our marriage, but without all the problems.

01:13I think that we both have enough respect for one another and our kids that we have put

01:22the brakes on continuing the divorce right now.

01:25I don't think it's the healthiest thing for either me or Edwin to be out, like, duking

01:33it out with our lawyers, spending money unnecessarily, so we're just trying to support each other

01:38right now, but I think, you know, ultimately we've made our decisions.

01:42I think the hardest part for him is I, one of the biggest flaws I made in our marriage

01:48was always pretending everything was okay, and now I'm so far from that, and he's never

01:57seen me show weakness or sadness, and like, now it's, there's no hiding it.

02:03Like, I'm having a bad day, like, I'm probably sobbing, and I'm probably like, I don't feel

02:08good, or I feel insecure, or I feel sad, or I, whatever, or I need a new job, or I, you

02:13know, like, there's so many, or like, I want to be the same exact mom I was, and he's like,

02:19you can't be at this moment, and that is okay.

02:21You took your daughter to a birthday party, and then you came home, and you were tired.

02:25That's okay.

02:26Um, where I don't know, I think I just would have faked it before, but he's given me kind

02:33of like the rest, you're okay, or go do it.

02:38That's fine.

02:39I think I'm so grateful for that support, that like, it really makes me embrace our

02:42friendship and realize why we were such good friends.

02:48In regards to our separation, I think that we didn't communicate exactly what we needed,

02:58and I think when that happens over time, you start to lose a part of what you were happiest

03:05with, and just more and more time passed, and that's kind of how it went down.

03:11I think they realize when I'm in pain, and I think they realize how massive the surgery

03:21was, um, but I don't know that they know the rest.

03:25I think they're, I think if anything, they're a little bit scared, um, but like, I am going

03:33to fight really hard.

03:34I can't imagine my life without them, so I'm going to do everything I possibly can, no

03:40matter how mean it makes me.

03:43All three of my kids and my stepdaughter, um, they're all very different personality

03:48types.

03:49Like, Slate wants to know every crumb of every detail.

03:52She's my identical human.

03:54Like, we look the same, we talk the same, we have all the same issues, um, so she wants

03:59every detail.

04:00Cruz is like a worry ward.

04:03So like, the other night, he's in the room with me, we're watching one of our favorite

04:07shows with my singer, and, you know, at first he's all, you know, like, is that you?

04:12And I'm like, I'm telling you, none of these are going to be me.

04:15None of these are me.

04:18But he's like, can I have a sip of your water?

04:20And I'm like, yeah, sure, bud.

04:22And then I handed it to him, and then he goes, oh, no.

04:25I'm like, what?

04:26And he's like, you already took a sip.

04:28I'm like, so what?

04:29I'm not sick.

04:30And he goes, you're contagious.

04:33And I'm like, I'm not contagious.

04:35There's nothing about me contagious.

04:36You can have the water.

04:37And he's like, I'm not trusting it.

04:38I'm not trusting it.

04:40But, um, and then my little one, she just does everything, like, if I'm putting ice

04:45on my head, she's putting ice on her head.

04:47I don't know that she necessarily understands, um, but Slate and Cruz do.

04:52Like, Cruz is always the one saying the things that I'm like, did he really just say that?

04:56He's like, did you get the letter when you were in the hospital?

04:59And I was like, what letter?

05:01And he's like, mom, my entire class, we wrote you a letter.

05:05I go, well, how did everybody know?

05:07And he goes, mom, you're all over the internet.
