Just Stop Oil says it’s stepping back from public protests. We ask locals whether they agree with the group’s methods, if they believe the protests made an impact, or if the tactics went too far.

00:00I didn't understand why they were attacking random paintings, I guess.

00:05I didn't really... I didn't follow them much, to be honest.

00:08I mean, I got what they were trying to fight for, I get it,

00:11but, like, some of the bits didn't make sense.

00:15They went too far in certain ways,

00:19and I think instead of certain actions that they did,

00:22I think there needed to be more communication involved.

00:26I've heard bits and pieces about this.

00:29I kind of find it quite funny,

00:32some of the ways that they protested.

00:37I don't know if I necessarily agree.

00:39I think there are better ways to get their point across,

00:44but I'm glad to see that they're sort of hanging up their high-vis.

00:48But I sort of am for what they support,

00:51but I think there are better ways of achieving what they try to achieve,

00:55so probably for the best that they are hanging up their high-vis.
