Leeds players and staff pay tribute to Chris and Kev ahead of the 25th anniversary of their deaths in Istanbul

02:00Good morning everybody. Thank you for joining us today as we come together to remember Chris

02:15and Kev on what will soon be the 25th anniversary of that fateful night. I'd like to thank Daniel,

02:22the players and the rest of the staff at Leeds United for taking time out to join us to

02:28remember. It seems impossible to think that 25 years has passed since many lives were

02:34turned upside down that night, but a gathering like this today shows that they will always

02:39be remembered and never forgotten. Their memories will live on forever, not just through brothers

02:45and sisters and children, but through the whole Leeds United fan base and the 5th of

02:51April will always be a special day of remembrance at this club. There's nothing much more than I

02:56can add to my words today that will be any different from what I have said over the previous

03:07years, but as it's the 25th anniversary, which in turn has attracted more national press and

03:14local news, it would be remiss of me not to mention again that the fight for the truth

03:20doesn't ever end. The lies that were told and continue to be told are, apart from the event

03:27itself, the most hurtful legacy. I will die on that hill repeating the facts that nobody there

03:35did a single one of the actions that we were all accused of. When I'm challenged in person or online,

03:42I always go back to the West Yeltsin coroner's verdict of unlawful killing, which translates

03:48quite simply of murder. We now turn our attention to Friday night where the family and friends will

03:55be joined by ex-players at the pavilion and we hold a remembrance dinner in their memories. It

04:02promises to be an amazing evening with all the proceeds from the night going to Candlelighters,

04:06what an amazing charity. There will be 950 people there on the night, which shows how

04:13important and relevant Chris and Kev still are to this day.
