White Lotus Season 3_ Actors Backed Out Over Incest Scenes, Reveals Casting Director

00:00The White Lotus' incest scenes stirred up quite the controversy with its viewers,

00:04but apparently it also had an effect on the actors.

00:08Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter in an April 2nd interview,

00:11casting director Meredith Tucker says those auditioning for the role of the brothers

00:15were told ahead of time there would be same-sex kissing.

00:18She says,

00:19I think maybe one kid for Sam's role dropped out,

00:22but some of these kids were barely 18, so I could understand.

00:26The production crew was worried about Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sam Nivola

00:30ditching the project as well, with producer David Bernard telling the outlet,

00:34When we sent the scripts to Patrick and Sam,

00:36creator Mike Wyatt and I were both like, I hope they don't drop out.

00:40Mike made me text Patrick. We were anxious.

00:43But they both weren't worried about the scandal, with Sam saying,

00:47They sent me my contract, and it was like,

00:49you have to be comfortable with sexually explicit scenes or whatever.

00:52And I was like, sure, yeah.

00:54I've never really done anything like that on camera.

00:57First time for everything.

00:58But I was not expecting that.
