The United States has imposed a 24% tariff on Malaysia as part of President Donald Trump's sweeping wave of trade measures.

Malaysia was featured at the 11th spot of the reciprocal tariff chart Trump held when making the much-awaited announcement.

00:11Malaysia ranked 11th on the reciprocal tariff chart Trump presented during his long-awaited

00:17According to the chart, Malaysia imposes a 47% tariff on U.S. goods, while the U.S. will
00:23reciprocate at half that rate.
00:25Other nations facing steep tariffs include China at 34%, the European Union at 20%, Vietnam
00:33at 46%, Sri Lanka at 44%, Cambodia at 49%, Laos at 48%, and Myanmar at 44%.
00:43Trump stressed that these reciprocal tariffs were a response to duties and other non-tariff
00:48barriers put on U.S. goods.
01:18A baseline 10% tariff on all imports will take effect on April 5th, with higher duties
01:44starting April 9th.
01:46Trump's announcement could put Asian equities under pressure as financial markets open Thursday.
