00:00Following the devastating blaze in Putra Heights, communities from all walks of life have come

00:06together to offer support to the more than 500 victims displaced by the tragic fire.

00:12In an inspiring display of unity, these unsung heroes opened the doors of their mosques and

00:17temples, offering shelter and assistance to those in need, regardless of their race, religion

00:23or background.

00:24I was worried and saddened because this was the first time we were dealing with a flood victim.

00:32When the fire broke out, it was our first time and we didn't know what to do.

00:38I was worried because I heard that some of the victims needed to be taken to the hospital

00:48but they came here first.

00:50So we welcomed them and took them to the hospital.

00:54We are very grateful for their coming, regardless of their race or religion, to help each other.

01:04Ahmad Ismail also expressed heartfelt gratitude for the widespread support from the community.

01:09I was very touched because we didn't expect so many people to come.

01:14Sometimes we have to cut to bring them to the front for the donation.

01:21We can't come at the same time.

01:23Manikava Sagam Raman, an advisor at Sri Mahakaliaman Temple, shared how the temple committee sprang

01:29into action as soon as the first blast was heard and the panic-stricken screams filled the air.

01:35The temple always carries a social obligation to help our society, irrespective of race,

01:46religion or ethnic group, status of the human being.

01:52So what we do is we open the gate, we welcome everybody, Chinese, Malay, Indian, Bangladeshi.

01:57We provide them with whatever necessary assistance, including food, drinks, praying facilities

02:05for volunteers, as well as our temple management bother to cook food, halal food for everybody.

02:14And other than that, we also provide them a place to rest.

02:19And even if they don't have a place to stay, we don't mind.

02:22We have ample of space for them to stay also.

02:24There are many rooms for them to stay.

02:27He also mentioned plans to organize a program offering legal advice and counselling for

02:32the victims.

02:33Earlier, National Unity Minister Datuk Arun Ago Dagang commended the mosque and temple

02:39for their swift actions, calling it a testament to the spirit of unity and solidarity among Malaysians.

02:46He emphasized that this situation serves as a reminder that unity should not just be a

02:51slogan but must be demonstrated through actions that reflect one's shared responsibility

02:56and care for one another.

02:58Meanwhile, Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Sri Nancy Shukri called on

03:04the public and organizations to temporarily postpone their planned donations to the victims

03:09due to space constraints.

03:12She recommended that donors contact the Welfare Department to discuss the most effective ways

03:16to channel their support.

03:18Since Tuesday, various companies, NGOs and individuals have generously provided essentials

03:24and food to the victims, ensuring they receive the help they urgently need.
