After coming across many birds in need, Vera decided to create her own wild bird rehabilitation center.

00:19My name is Vera, I'm 28 years old.

00:22I'm the head of the center for bird rescue in Voronezh-Don.

00:25Since I was 18 years old, I became passionate about birds.

00:35I really like the feeling when you let the bird free and give it the sky it lost.

00:44He came to me, I don't even remember the year.

00:54He was very small, bald, and he had a broken leg.

00:59His parents threw him out of the nest.

01:05Once, all these birds lived in my apartment.

01:08There was no parking lot.

01:10I used to bring crows, roe deer.

01:17As a rule, rehabilitation centers didn't take such birds.

01:21These are centers that require a very individual approach.

01:31At some point, I realized that if I want to develop, I can't do it alone.

01:41At the same time, the number of birds injured grew every year.

01:51I invited people who were interested in all this.

01:55I invited them to take part in the life of the center.

01:58I didn't regret it for a second.

02:00In fact, a very cool, very inspired team has gathered here in Voronezh-Don,

02:17All of them need to be fed every day.

02:19Most of them need to be treated every day.

02:21Someone needs to be treated twice or three times a day.

02:25The hotline accepts applications.

02:27The volunteer provides all the necessary primary information

02:30about how to catch a bird, how to transport it.

02:41Maybe one of our missions is eco-enlightenment.

02:47We try to communicate with people.

02:49We try to talk about birds.

02:51We try to talk about what can be fed, what cannot be fed,

02:54how to help, when it is better not to touch the bird.

03:00Because, as we understand, most of the birds that come to us

03:06are somehow connected with the human factor.

03:13We are volunteers.

03:14We work on our own.

03:16We are helped by ordinary, indifferent people.
