00:00Meanwhile, the government has assured assistance to 17 Filipinos arrested in Qatar for participating

00:07in a protest in support of former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently retained

00:13at the International Criminal Court, or ICC, and facing charges of crimes against humanity.

00:20According to the palace, the government has the responsibility to protect the welfare

00:25of every Filipino, regardless of their beliefs.

00:28The palace added that the Philippines Labor Attaché in Qatar has deployed a lawyer to

00:34assess the situation of the detained Filipinos, provide legal assistance, and ensure their

00:40rights are upheld.

00:41Care packages will also be delivered in those in custody.
