00:00Almost 2,000 fur parents and fur babies were born in a farm in Mandaluyong City.

00:06In the pursuit of animal welfare and responsible pet ownership,

00:11EJ Gomez has the first news.

00:18May and her cute poodle fur baby, Chibi, woke up early.

00:22They were with, in spirit, their giant poodle fur baby, Dalton.

00:28Only a few of them joined the Positive Strides Run for the Homeless Tales

00:33held at Serizal University in Mandaluyong City.

00:36The goal of the run?

00:39To promote care for stray animals,

00:42such as dogs and cats without a family or a place to live.

00:47There's a zumba before running.

00:50When the drums started beating,

00:52Go, go, boys!

00:53The ones who jumped were accompanied by the Queen of the Philippines Long Jump,

00:58Elma Muros.

01:00The top one finisher in the 1-kilometer run was Wesley

01:04and his small but terrible fur baby, Wiggle.

01:08It was their first time joining the fun run.

01:11Of course I'm glad.

01:12Hopefully, it will fill up my dreams to have my fur baby join the fun run.

01:17The number of participants in the Fun Run for a Cause reached 1,500

01:22according to the organizers,

01:24known as the Tourism Students of JRU.

01:28Animal Welfare and Responsible Pet Ownership

01:31is the goal of their program.

01:34Right now, we see a lot of stray cats or dogs

01:38that are being treated by other people.

01:41The proceeds from the Fun Run for a Cause

01:44will be donated to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society
