00:00The local government of Tacurong City has received financial assistance from the Department of Trade and Industry,

00:07the so-called help that is far from being able to support the creative industry.

00:11Oliver Rivera is in the center of the news.

00:16The government of Tacurong City has received P2M from the Department of Trade and Industry

00:23for the Lunsod-Lunsad program, Tukib Tacurong.

00:26It aims to support local artists and strengthen the creative industry.

00:32Within three months,

00:33the participants will be included in a series of training and discussions

00:37to help them make their talent into a business.

00:41According to the City Tourism Officer, Emily Hamurabon,

00:44Tacurong is known as the home of talented artists.

00:48That's why it's important to support the creative industry

00:51that has a big impact on the economy.

00:54We have artists who are still students,

00:59but we have seen their talent.

01:04And these students are also earning

01:07because of what they are doing.

01:09They are earning and doing business.

01:11So that's what we need, to guide them

01:14so that their business will flourish.

01:19More than 300 artists from different regions,

01:22such as graphic and web design,

01:24content creation,

01:26film,

01:27visual arts,

01:28gastronomy and fashion,

01:29will be included in the training.

01:32One thing is for sure,

01:33if this activity will continue,

01:36many Tacurong nuns,

01:38artistic Tacurong nuns will come

01:41and will make arts in Tacurong City

01:47be known not only in our region,

01:50but also in the Philippines and maybe

01:53internationally in the future.

01:55The program will be implemented in the regions in Region 12

01:59as part of the DTI's effort

02:02to support and promote the creative industry in the country.
