Actor Abhishek Bachchan spoke to Brut about his new movie, how he chooses stocks to invest in and... why he engages even with critics on social media.

00:03Hello, I'm Abhishek Bachchan for Brute India.

00:16I've been investing in the stock market for several years now.

00:20It's a space that I follow quite closely and with a lot of interest.

00:25So yeah, I mean, the backdrop of this film wasn't something that was alien to me.

00:29It was something I was pretty comfortable with.

00:30You know, very honestly, my only suggestion to people would be is

00:36invest in stocks that you believe in.

00:39I've not been very good at just investing in something that I just perceive to be a financial

00:44tool. It has to be something or a company that I believe in, in the work that they're doing.

00:50I enjoy investing in a lot of startups. I enjoy investing in tech.

00:55I enjoy evidently investing in sport.

00:57I'm not particularly fond of investing in any stock

01:00that just might be a sensible stock to invest in. It has to have some meaning to me.

01:26So my film is more of a dramatized telling of the events that happened,

01:44with its fair share of fiction.

01:46So since that was our stand and perspective on it,

01:49there were things that we could take liberties with and stretch a bit

01:53because we felt that would be better suited for the palette of the audience.

01:58For example, the first half of our film is largely

02:01based and inspired from my director's father, actually.

02:05If you're making a biopic on a particular public figure,

02:08then it's your responsibility to be absolutely truthful to it.

02:11When you're just telling a dramatized story, I think you're unshackled from doing that.

02:17You can tell a story to its best dramatic effect.

02:21But when I drink, I drink of the best quality.

02:24So I love that attitude.

02:26It kind of summarized Heman Shah to me.

02:29That whatever I'm going to do, I'm going to do for the best.

02:32And I'm going to be the best and I'm going to have the best.

02:35So I love that.

02:45I can't understand why a celebrity would want to be on a social media platform

02:49and not want to interact with their followers, etc.

02:52I mean, that's kind of the function of the medium, right?

02:54But also, I think we need to have a bit of a sense of humor and not take ourselves so seriously.

03:00Learn to laugh it off a bit.

03:01A lot of the stuff is actually quite funny.

03:04And once in a while, if you have the time and are inclined to,

03:08you know, answer back one or two of the guys, which is fine.

03:11I mean, this medium is all about interaction.

03:13It's about give and take.

03:13It's about friendly banter.

03:15And, you know, what we can take, we can give equally well.

03:18So yeah, it's all in jest and in good fun.
