00:27would think twice before doing TV or doing something like this.
00:30But Netflix is challenging that notion by putting so much money into that show
00:35that that little entertainment on that small phone or small tablet
00:39or whatever you're watching it on, digital medium you're watching it on,
00:43might be more entertaining than a film.
00:51I think I'll always be the kind of actor, I think I have a pretty consistent filmography
00:55of something masala type once in a while and something a little more sensible at other times.
01:03And sometimes they'll be both.
01:05Commercial cinema in that sense, there will be some crowd-pleasing stuff.
01:08Again, there'll be one area which will be even a bit lowbrow by anyone's standards
01:17but is designed to entertain and not be too thought-provoking perhaps or whatever.
01:23And then there's the other extreme where we are a proper film industry.
01:26So this thing called Bollywood, I mean, it's a big umbrella.
01:29We've got a lot of people under that.
01:30The thing about our culture is that we really, and this is what's dangerous I think about our culture,
01:34is that we really don't need verification, validation, appreciation from an outside culture.
01:42Because there's so many of us that if we just keep each other happy,
01:45we don't really financially need anything.
01:47So at least as an industry.
01:54Some parts of this world are medieval, even in our own country.
01:58There are some modern sections and there are some medieval sections,
02:01sometimes in the same person.
02:03So you have to be careful because if you say something,
02:07pretty soon the issue is completely ignored and the actor who said it is highlighted
02:12and abused and trolled and people go ballistic without even hearing you out sometimes.
