Kapil Sibal Slams Centre On Unemployment

Unemployment at a 45-year high? Congress party’s Kapil Sibal leans on a leaked report in the Business Standard to corner the Modi government.

01:11Today, in 2017-18, the report suggests that within the rural areas,

01:22the unemployment rate is 13% amongst males, 17% amongst females.

01:29And in urban areas, in cities, it is 27% amongst females and 18.7% amongst males.

01:38This is the highest ever in the last 45 years.

01:42During UPA time, it was 2.2%. That was the data in 2011-12.

01:48So unfortunately, this government doesn't want to bring up that data on record.

01:53On the one hand, our president tells us about how wonderfully this government has performed.

01:59And out in the rural areas, in the urban areas, people are hoping that tomorrow they will get a job.

02:05This government thinks that history in India started in 2014.

02:10And prior to 2014, India didn't exist.
