Manav Kaul Urged People To Vote Wisely

Actor-director Manav Kaul spoke to Brut India about crowdfunding films and the need to vote wisely.

00:08I perform in Netflix, Amazon or whatever web series and theatre and short film and cinema.

00:30The thing is, Swamit Rane himself produced this film and it is very difficult to make

00:44the entire film and post production and everything.

00:46He ran out of money and he asked for this Fishberry thing and it worked out very well

00:52and he got the money, he finished the film and eventually it's releasing.

00:56People have given money and it was out there and we have done one show for all the people

01:01who have given money to the film, so it was interesting, quite interesting.

01:16I made it for what I felt the filmmaking I like and it is on YouTube, one can watch it,

01:23also my point is you don't need to come to Bombay to make a film, if you have a story

01:28like Reema Das has made such amazing films, you can make films, if the film is good, what

01:35you are saying is correct, you will go places.

01:46As an actor I don't feel any difference, of course if a director is making a web series

01:51he has to see the 9 episodes and every episode should end in a way that people will watch

01:57the next episode, whereas the films are different.

02:00But as an actor I don't feel any difference, I perform in the same way I perform in Netflix,

02:05Amazon or whatever web series and theatre and short film and cinema, I mean I am performing

02:11a character, so I don't see any difference.

02:22See, the thing is, there are things like, there are some directors you really like,

02:29there are some scripts you really like, you will do passing shot, like I did like Badla

02:33as a guest appearance, you do it for the sake because I like Sojourner Khosh very much,

02:39but just to be part of a big film I don't think I will do anything like that and I said

02:45that it's not in my blood to stand behind or out of focus and just take, I won't do

02:54justice to that role, so it's not that that is a lesser role or a bigger role, there are

02:59certain things I know that I have a limitation, I can't do that.

03:02It is something which I feel that this is important and I will actually contribute something

03:09in this script, if I don't see that then I don't do that.
