00:00The Montalban Rizal LGU held a Social Media Literacy Seminar.

00:05The Philippine Information Agency was there to address the spread of fake news online.

00:10Anna Molet of the Philippine Information Agency Calabarzon has the details of the news.

00:17Every day, social media is used by Raydan Torres.

00:21As a teenager, he was one of those exposed to various online information, whether true or not.

00:28They were also invited by the local government of Montalban Rizal and the Philippine Information Agency

00:34to conduct a Social Media Literacy Seminar.

00:38We learn how to be active in social media, but also how to be purposeful in what we post.

00:47We should also be responsible as digital citizens.

00:52More than 150 SK members, student leaders, and students visited the seminar

00:59to give social media users enough information to investigate and post information online,

01:06as well as for fact-checking.

01:08Their media literacy is still lacking because there are a lot of fake social media pages here.

01:14Even if there are fake pages, we still need more social media awareness.

01:20Hopefully, the PIA's help will not end here.

01:23According to the latest SWS survey,

01:25the majority of Filipinos are still having a hard time with fake news.

01:29That's why programs like this are important to make everyone aware of getting news and information online.
