01:29The Philippine Coast Guard and the PCG, or Navigational Safety Forum, in Davao City, was established on March 24.
01:37This is an effort to improve maritime safety in the Davao Gulf, along with the construction of the Samal Island-Davao Connector and SIDC Bridge,
01:47which is one of the government's big-ticket projects in the Davao region.
01:51This is a joint effort between government agencies, shipping companies, stakeholders, and private organizations to come up with some ideas on how to improve the Davao Gulf.
02:02Currently, there is 12% progress in the construction of the Davao-Samal Bridge, which will be completed in September 2028.
02:14We are here on behalf of our Commander Admiral Gavan,
02:18but more specifically, our focus of discussion is to enhance navigational safety.
02:24As to other areas that we need to look into those concerns, we have specific functional commands to look into, especially the maritime security concerns in the region.
02:36These waters serve as a lifeline for commerce, tourism, and local livelihoods.
02:44Their strategic importance demands not only vigilance, but also proactive measures to safeguard lives, protect the marine environment, and promote safe and efficient navigation.

03:09Seventeen Barangay Council of Women and members of the Sectoral Women's Council were present.
