China condemns US adding its entities to export restrictions list

00:00With what the US administration touted as Liberation Day on April 2nd looming, China

00:06has exerted pressure on the White House to reverse its tariff regime.

00:10On Tuesday, the US also added six subsidiaries of Inspur Group, which is a leading cloud

00:16computing and big data service provider in China, and dozens other Chinese entities to

00:22its export restriction list.

00:24In total, there are 80 entities from countries and regions, including China, the United Arab

00:31Emirates, Iran, South Africa, and Taiwan, put on the list because of their activities

00:36contrary to US national security and foreign policy.

00:40US has slapped new tariffs on Chinese goods and is threatening many more next month, where

00:46it promises to impose reciprocal tariffs on all countries that impose levies on the US.

00:54The US misuses export control tools such as the entity list as an excuse to violate U.S.

01:01national security and U.S. foreign policy and imposes illegal one-sided sanctions.

01:06It is a typical tyrannical move that seriously violates the basic principles of international

01:10law and international relations, seriously undermines the legitimate rights of enterprises,

01:16and undermines the global security and stability of the production chain.

01:20China firmly opposes this and strongly condemns it.

01:23We urge the U.S. to stop violating the concept of national security, to stop politicizing,

01:30mechanizing, and weaponizing economic and technological issues, to stop abusing various

01:33sanctions lists, and to be unreasonable in suppressing Chinese enterprises.

01:37China will take necessary measures to firmly maintain the legitimate rights of Chinese enterprises.

01:43Last week, U.S. President Donald Trump said he would be speaking to Chinese President

01:47Xi Jinping about tariffs.

01:50He said the U.S. has a trillion-dollar deficit with China, which allows fentanyl to be sent

01:56to the U.S. through the Mexico border, and the White House wants to turn it around.

02:02China objects to the tariffs and vows to impose retaliatory trade actions, saying that it

02:08had taken major steps to counter the fentanyl menace.

02:12We already announced steel, as you know, and aluminum.

02:16We'll be announcing pharmaceuticals at some point in the not-too-distant — because we

02:20have to have pharmaceuticals.

02:21We don't make pharmaceuticals anymore.
