00:00I shook hands with everybody, you'll be pleased to know, and I continue to shake hands.

00:04I've today left hospital after a week in which the NHS has saved my life,

00:09no question. It's hard to find words to express my debt.

00:30It's horrible for any family, so I've been thinking mainly about his fiancée because

00:43obviously she's pregnant. Awful for him and for his family and for the nation.

01:00I'm shaking hands. I was at a hospital the other night where I think there were a few

01:19coronavirus patients and I shook hands with everybody, you'll be pleased to know,

01:23and I continue to shake hands.

01:30At present, there are just no easy options. The way ahead is hard and it is still true

01:48that many lives will sadly be lost. I am working from home, I'm self-isolating and

02:06that's entirely the right thing to do, but be in no doubt that I can continue,

02:13thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team,

02:17to lead the national fight back against coronavirus. We're going to beat it,

02:21and we're going to beat it together. All Americans are praying for him,

02:39he's a friend of mine, he's a great gentleman and a great leader and he's,

02:44he was brought to the hospital today, but I'm hopeful and sure that he's going to be fine.

02:51He's a strong man, a strong person. I hope they won't mind if I

03:14mention in particular two nurses who stood by my bedside for 48 hours when things could have

03:21gone either way. The reason in the end my body did start to get enough oxygen was because for

03:27every second of the night they were watching and they were thinking and they were caring

03:33and making the interventions I needed. Yes, definitely a wake-up call for those who might

03:46not have been taking it seriously. It can affect people who are normally healthy,

03:50but including myself, I think it's probably been a wake-up call too.
