00:00I kind of started to feel like threads of you know where I could see myself

00:06becoming someone that I didn't want to be and and that was really hard but I

00:11think the thing that's nice with that is you get to write a song about it and be

00:15like okay.

00:30I'd say since I left home I have I've never really had the place that feels

00:36like oh that's that's my home. With like all the touring and stuff that we did in

00:41the band I remember there was one point where we'd been away for so long I came

00:46home to my house in England and I was home for about five days and I walked in

00:53the door and I sat down and I was like I don't know what to do like when I'm home

01:00at all I've been away for so long.

01:29I remember thinking I don't want to lose these boys they were too talented

01:34we had a lot of good contestants that year something went wrong in the middle

01:38stages but I just made a decision at the spot you know what put them into a group

01:42let's see what happens in the next two weeks.

02:12I think that's where it's power is I think the hair just like attracts the girls.

02:43We were in Sweden recording What Makes You Beautiful in the studio someone came

02:50up into the room was like there's two girls outside and we're like why and

02:58they're like they're like looking for you and we were all just like but we're

03:04in Sweden.

03:12You're able to comprehend what's happened to you in the last couple of years can you

03:24believe this? I mean there's no there's just no way to comprehend it it's not

03:29something that you just never imagine that anything gets to this level and we're

03:35just so so happy and so so grateful.

04:05All of the decisions I've made as an adult that affected my life and what I

04:17had what I was doing with my life had been made as a group and I think there

04:23was a part of me that felt like I wanted to make some decisions for myself.

04:35I don't think I was that aware really of how famous Harry was I mean my

04:53daughter talked about it my kids talked about him but I wasn't really that aware

04:57of it so the truth is I cast Harry because he fit the part wonderfully and

05:04truly earned his seat at the table.

05:28I think you just have to kind of feel comfortable and I think you can kind of

05:33wear anything if you're comfortable wearing it and just be yourself.

06:03The thing with like sex in general is like it used to feel so much more taboo

06:26for me to even like even like we're in the band like the thought of people

06:32thinking that I had sex was like oh no that's crazy like what if they know but

06:37it's like you know yeah so come even just like coming into this record I

06:43wanted to feel a little less like guarded with stuff I wanted to feel a

06:47lot freer and just more joyful and like honest.

06:58Every single person does it who's ever lost a friend where you know whether

07:05you're close to them or not I think everyone has that thing of like I wish

07:12I'd just asked one more time if they're okay.

07:17And one of my friends kind of said if you're happy doing what you're doing

07:30then nobody can tell you you're not successful.
