Only one thing was good, that I did not know where the journey takes.
00:06
We arrived in a place, you could call it the hell.
00:21
I hope, for the whole world's sake, that the world learns something from it.
00:28
And therefore I try, how much I can, to talk about it.
00:33
That something like that should not happen again.
00:37
They put a number of us, like what they do, an enemy.
00:43
We were not women, and we were not taken.
00:52
Oh, that is, yeah, that is, yeah, thank you that you mentioned it.
00:58
I remember the people who were already there.
01:11
They told me that, you know, your family is not on other parts where they will work.
01:20
They are murdered.
01:22
And you know what I answered?
01:25
You are mad.
01:27
We don't believe that.
01:29
And very quick, we find out from people who were there a bit longer time,
01:39
that that was the truth.
01:42
That is what they want to achieve.
01:45
Kill us.
01:47
Why they could not?
01:49
Because the time run out.
01:51
Nothing else.
02:25
Yes, we were in the ghetto.
02:36
Because in the ghetto, they should know where the Jewish people are.
02:43
So it was easier for them to take us to the camp.
02:56
The truth is that the whole Europe, the Jewish people, nearly the whole Europe,
03:06
the Jewish people were not alive anymore.
03:09
Not alive.
03:11
And we in Hungary still did not know.
03:16
And they know also how to work in secret.
03:21
So even in Hungary, for one town, the other town did not know what happens.
03:52
They took us from Hungary.
03:56
They have not enough workers.
03:58
They need workers.
04:00
They took us for slave labor.
04:03
We thought a few months, a few weeks, a few months, we will be,
04:10
and then we will be free.
04:12
It is not the end of the world.
04:14
Then this fire came up.
04:16
And this terrible smell.
04:18
Yeah, you burn human flesh and hair.
04:35
We told you about how they killed us.
04:37
That what they haven't spoken about, that people died from hunger.
04:43
And even worse, that people was experimented on without any anesthetic.
04:51
Would you believe that when you operate an animal,
04:56
would you operate an animal without anesthetic or anything?
04:59
They are not humans, not me.
05:02
I don't let the humanism.
05:09
Something like that.
05:11
But I think never ever happened in human history.
05:16
I don't say people were always nice to each other.
05:20
But so killing, industrial killing, that is,
05:25
would they build factory to kill and not to produce something?
05:32
That never was up to.
05:35
And that happened the first time.
05:38
The first time.
05:49
Nobody who survived, don't know how, it was luck.
05:56
God wanted that I should survive.
05:59
So I survived.
06:01
If somebody tries to answer you, they don't know what they are saying.
06:06
But Zata, you often say what helped you to stay alive,
06:10
not survive, but to stay alive in the camps,
06:12
was that you had your sisters with you.
06:14
Yeah, that is again true.
06:16
I had my two younger sisters with me.
06:20
I know I was the oldest.
06:24
I am responsible for that.
06:27
I promised myself.
06:30
If I survive, I think so.
06:35
I will tell the world what happened.
07:00
It was the Eichmann trial.
07:03
That opened the way there.
07:05
That was the first time that I heard about it happened something.
07:11
And then I didn't want that to open this whole terrible thing.
07:21
And then I saw people know already about it.
07:24
So it is much better when I know for somebody
07:29
who can tell who was there, who went through it, what it was.
07:51
If you look at our TikTok account,
07:53
there are 10-year-olds who haven't learnt in school,
07:55
asking questions, and they do want to learn.
07:57
And they do want to hear from a survivor,
07:59
because they know that in a few years' time,
08:01
they'll be able to say to someone,
08:02
I got my question answered by a survivor.
08:04
And I know it's true, because she has the tattoo from Auschwitz on her arm.
08:08
And it never begins with killing.
08:10
Therefore, we must be so careful of voices, of speaking.
