"Under the pole" is pushing the boundaries of underwater exploration

Under The Pole expeditions have been created by avid deep-sea divers. Their goal: push the boundaries of underwater exploration.

00:00The objective was to bring back the first images, photos, videos of the submarine environment

00:30In 2014 and 2015, we carried out the second expedition of Northepole

00:35It was a mission in Greenland that lasted almost two years

00:39with a journey through the seasons and a journey between the extreme south and the extreme north of Greenland

00:45The techniques of deep diving that we developed allowed us to evolve next to the shark of Greenland at 80 meters deep

00:52It was the first time that this animal was observed so deeply by divers in its natural environment

01:22There is a kind of void of knowledge in this area because the less deep the divers have access to

01:33and have dived a lot, have done a lot of research

01:36Deeper, we often deploy underwater systems, underwater robots, submarines

01:41to go and look for what is happening in the deep abysses

01:44And finally, this area has been left aside a bit

01:47It is a habitat, it is an observatory that will allow us to stay for several days, to go out diving, to come back

01:58and to observe continuously, trying to get forgotten as much as possible of the environment
