00:14It's just not right that we would continue to honor these Confederate men who fought to preserve slavery

00:21on the same ground as men, women, and even children were once sold into a life of slavery.

00:30Yes, we like knowing where we came from. But we also need to know that our history is accurate and truthful.

01:00The time has come.

01:29This is not just about statutes. This is about attitudes. And it's about behaviors as well.

01:34If we take down these statutes and don't change to become a more open and inclusive society,

01:39then all of this would have been in vain.
