00:18I saw two films before I was 18 years old,

00:20Orca and King Kong.

00:22The idea of doing this for a living

00:24was not even in the vernacular of my dreams

00:26until I was 19.

00:30And I had a friend suggest it to me,

00:32but I didn't think it was a possible reality

00:36for a working way to a job.

01:11I got my first job in Austin, Texas

01:13on a film called Dazed and Confused.

01:15Woo-hoo!

01:26Say, man, you got a joint?

01:30Uh, no, not on me, man.

01:34It'd be a lot cooler if you did.

01:41If I have any rule or any strategy,

01:43it's try to do things different.

01:45Try to surprise myself, go over here,

01:47and let's accent that side of my own personality.

01:49Let's mix it up.

01:51I would like a broad, interesting library

01:53of great Americans

01:55at the end of my career, you know?

02:01I lived on the road.

02:03I was living in an Airstream,

02:05traveling across America.

02:31I mean, I guess that's how I got it, you know?

02:33I mean, just keep doing it.

02:35I don't know, you know?

02:37I kind of keep laughing along the way.

02:53Coming to the Just Keep Living program

02:55can provide so many first-time experiences

02:58and be something that you can carry on

03:00throughout your life after high school.

03:02Learn nutrition, learn exercise,

03:05learn good life choices.

03:07And we've got attendance raising.

03:09The kids that are in our curriculum,

03:11their attendance is getting better

03:13in the real school that they're in.

03:25You guys see a lot of lawbreakers

03:27up in this house.

03:33I almost said McComasants.

03:35I thought that was a good play on words.

03:37Somewhat deliberate.

03:39There was a time over two years ago

03:41where I was receiving romantic comedies,

03:43I was receiving action adventures,

03:45that I said two things.

03:47I said, one, I feel like I've done that before.

03:49Then two, I was looking at some of them going,

03:51well, I like it, but I could do it tomorrow.

03:53And I said, you know what, I don't want to do something

03:55I feel like I could do tomorrow.

03:57I want to do something where I go, whoa,

03:59that turns me on, but I don't have the answer.

04:01Go to work and figure out who this guy is.

04:11You look great.

04:12Honestly, I look amazing.

04:17I had a sensational year of acting.

04:20I did this film, Dallas Buyers Club.

04:24Not an easy film to find,

04:28not an easy story to find.

04:30They do not come across our desk that often.

04:32And as a bunch of us know, if they do come across our desk,

04:35it's even harder to get the damn thing made.

04:52That's a big bull.

04:55♪♪

05:19We are Cooking Barbecue,

05:21and we are delivering barbecue

05:23to 20 different fire stations to different people.

05:25First responders that are responding to the fires

05:27that are going on in L.A. right now.

05:36You know, they got that line,

05:37if you don't do politics, politics will do you.

05:39There's a lot of truth to that.

05:40And yeah, you could say a lot of things

05:42are heavily divided now.

05:45I think it's a phase we're going through.

05:48And we'll come out the other side

05:50and we'll find our proverbial water line

05:53and see that, hey.

05:54But that's also part of democracy

05:57is the push and the pull from the so-called left and the right.

06:01It's the push and the pull.

06:02There is a divide there to push.

06:04I'm preferably a little more aggressively centric.

06:08But we'll see where we come out

06:12and getting out to vote's the first step

06:14and doing something about it.
