00:00Fake does tremendous damage.
00:12I expressed my anxieties over his comments regarding women, regarding Mexicans.
00:19He mocked a person with disabilities publicly.
00:23The president prides himself as a taboo breaker.
00:28Indeed, his supporters see him as such.
00:31But at the time, I expressed my feeling that this was grossly irresponsible
00:35because it has consequences.
00:38It emboldens those who may think similarly to sharpen their assaults on these communities.
00:47And to call these news organizations fake does tremendous damage.
00:55And to refer to individual journalists in this way, I have to ask the question,
01:00is this not an incitement for others to attack journalists?
01:07And let's assume a journalist is harmed from one of these organizations.
01:14Does the president then not bear responsibility for this, for having fanned this?
01:20Yes, I believe it could amount to incitement.
01:25It's really quite amazing when you think that freedom of the press,
01:30not only a sort of cornerstone of the U.S. Constitution,
01:33but very much something that the United States defended over the years,
01:38is now itself under attack from the president himself.
