00:16You take away our rights to distract from the shortcomings of your own politics.

00:27You attack our families, you tell people we are a threat, you deny us the right to be who we want to be, when all we ask for is freedom.
00:37But we will not give up just because you keep attacking us.
00:41We will fight for our freedom, we will fight for our safety, and we will fight for our equality.
00:48And this declaration might only be a first step.
00:51We know that our lives are still in danger, our rights restricted, our freedom brutally suffocated in far, far too many places in the European Union.
01:01But it is a step, and we are many, we are everywhere, and we are strong.
01:07This declaration shall be a signal, a signal to the community everywhere in Europe.
01:13This battle is far from being over.
01:16This story is far from being told, and it will take all of us together.
01:21But then, yes, then we can do it.
01:24We can make the European Union an LGBTIQ freedom zone.

01:44This is not about one community versus another.
01:48It is about all of us moving forward together.
01:52And we cannot move forward when so many are left behind.
01:56So today we are here to tell all those in the LGBTIQ community that this is your Europe too.

02:11To tell all those parents who are worried about the safety of their LGBTIQ children that we have their back.
02:19To tell every girl and boy that in this Europe you can be whoever you want to be, wherever you want to be,
02:28and our union, this House, will protect that right.
02:33To tell those struggling that you do not have to adjust yourself to injustice.
02:38To tell abusers, both offline and online, that you will not find safe haven here.
02:45That our laws will protect those you seek to destroy.
02:49To tell everyone in Poland and beyond that we hear you.
02:55That Europe stands for freedom.
02:58Freedom to live as you wish to live.
03:01Freedom to love who you wish to love.
03:05Freedom to be who you wish to be.
03:09And that there is not one state, not one town, not one village in our union where this freedom will not be defended.
03:18Because this is who we are. This is a freedom zone.
