Sophie Skelton talked to Parade at SCAD TVFest about working on the set of Starz's 'Outlander'.

00:00Yes, karma works real fast.

00:04Katrina and I used to take the mick out of Richard

00:06because he had to drive one of the, in his defence,

00:08it's a double clutch car,

00:10one of the old Fords, I think it was, in season two.

00:14And we always joke, because it was a very emotional scene

00:15where we're sending Claire back in time

00:17and it's at the Stones,

00:18and it's really emotional for Brianna and for Claire.

00:21And all we could hear was just this poor car

00:24just being broken

00:25as it's driven around the corner by Richard.

00:27And then I got behind the wheel of Brianna's Mustang

00:32and I don't know if I just couldn't reach the pedal

00:35very well, but I was stalling the car very much

00:37and Richard had a great time with that and videoed it.

00:40And then I hit some black ice and nearly destroyed Lillebroch,

00:43which I don't think anybody actually knows that yet,

00:45but it happened.

00:47So yeah, Lillebroch was nearly not standing anymore

00:50because I drove my Mustang into the notch.

00:53I think it was one of my favourite seasons,

00:56season seven,

00:57because I think it's one of the first times

00:58that we see Brianna.

01:00We've seen her in her role as a mother before,

01:03but I think this season, she just feels so settled

01:05and so content with who she is.

01:08And I'm really proud of that side of her.

01:09And so I think one of the scenes that I loved

01:11was at the beginning

01:12when she finds out about Mandy's heart condition.

01:14And I think just the way that Brianna handles

01:16information like that, she's not hysterical.

01:20Other times, I think she'd be too stoic

01:22and hide everything she's feeling,

01:23but to see her break down in front of Claire

01:25and to see her vulnerabilities come out,

01:26but still handle everything with such grace

01:29is just something that I love about her.

01:34Will she die?

01:39Probably.

01:49There's no way to be sure,

01:51but it will get worse as time goes on.

01:54And without surgery?

01:56Probably.

02:05Can you fix it?

02:10No, I can't.

02:14Even with Aether?

02:16No.

02:20Yeah, well, I think this has been

02:21such a big part of our lives as well.

02:23It kind of often all mushes into one.

02:25So especially with us splitting season seven and two,

02:29and then obviously we shot season eight

02:30while season seven was airing.

02:32And so we're all a little bit discombobulated.

02:35Thankfully, I think we've kept any spoilers to a minimum.

02:38Yeah, a little bit.

02:40I think it's interesting though,

02:42because it is still such a different world.

02:43And so that show I think is beautiful

02:46that it plays on the characters

02:47that we already know and love,

02:48but it does very much stand alone as well.

02:50And so there's only so much of our wisdom

02:53that we can impart on them,

02:55but more just the lay of the land and of Scotland

02:57and just of how to treat the crew and stuff.

03:01I think it's such a good camaraderie on set

03:04that we have between the cast and crew.

03:05And hopefully that torch will carry on with them.

03:08Is he watching?

03:09Then yes, if he's not watching.

03:10No, I actually haven't yet.

03:11I'm terrible.

03:12I've not been watching anything.

03:13Is that the couple next door?

03:14Yeah, it's on my list.
