00:00Hello, I'm Agnes, and I'm so happy to be here with you all again.

00:04We have quite many things we would love to share with you all today, and we will start

00:08with something that many of you have already been testing.

00:12And today I'm happy to announce the name and date for our upcoming drop.

00:17It's called Spring to Life, and it will actually be releasing in just a few days time, on March

00:2225th.

00:25We want to revisit some existing biomes to make them more delightful and to give them

00:29a clearer and more unique personality, and in that way we hope to enhance some of the

00:34existing core values Minecraft already has, like exploration and building, because it's

00:40so much more exciting and inspiring and fun to journey through the Minecraft world and

00:45to make it your own when the places you see are more immersive and varied.

00:50And here to talk more about Spring to Life are our lovely Dex.

00:58Spring to Life is only a couple of days away now, I'm really excited for players to get

01:02their hands on it and play with all the new features we've added.

01:05I think it's a nice bit of spring cleaning to the overworld biomes.

01:10The overall goal for this drop is to make the biomes feel more different from each other

01:14and more alive, and the way we've done that is by adding new blocks that are unique to

01:20certain biomes, we've added mob variations that occur in certain biomes, and then we've

01:25added new sounds and moving particles to add some feeling of motion as well.

01:34I think our current farm animal mobs are pretty iconic, so I wanted to keep some of the features

01:39that I think are important to them, but at the same time I wanted to introduce some new

01:44colors or for the cows I introduced some different horn types and stuff.

01:50For the cold cow we were inspired by the highland cattle, which is very fluffy and very fuzzy.

01:55Very cute.

01:56We have the hot climate pig, which is the red river hog, kind of inspired, it has this

02:00cool markings on its face and everything.

02:03And then we have a cold or cool chicken, which is inspired by Polish chickens, which have

02:09some really nice kind of feathers going on.

02:12I think my favorite is the cool chicken, just because I get to say cool chicken around the

02:17office a lot.

02:21The new sounds we've added is sounds for the desert, sounds for firefly bush, sounds for

02:27the leaf litter, and sound personalities for the wolves.

02:32The desert biome is a really peaceful place.

02:36You will start to hear sounds of sand and wind, and hopefully you will feel the emptiness

02:43of the desert.

02:45The overworld got ambient sounds attached to the blocks, so if the player removes all

02:50of the blocks, the sound goes away.

02:52And if the player is bringing these blocks that have sounds, you bring the sound as well.

02:58And we think some players who really want to stretch their building skills and take

03:02it a bit further will start trying to incorporate sounds into their builds as well.

03:09The wolf sounds are actually not wolves, it's dogs.

03:12I went to a dog daycare and recorded a lot of dogs.

03:19Did you do the mad wolf?

03:21Oh!

03:24We've also made some other changes to add more movement to the overworld.

03:28For example, with the new firefly bush, the block attracts firefly particles that move

03:34around above it, which is really nice when you find them in the swamp or near rivers.

03:38And because the fireflies come out in darkness and go away in the light, a technical player

03:43can even switch them on and off, so there's a lot that you can do with this block.

03:49I'm really excited about the new spawn eggs too.

03:52For players who play in creative mode, we have so many mobs in the game now, and the

03:55spawn eggs were starting to look a bit all the same.

03:58It gets harder and harder to remember which one is which.

04:01So I think the new art is just fantastic, and there's so much character and personality.

04:06Similar to the changes to the lodestone recipe, we also wanted to change the cartographer

04:11villager trait so that you get more maps to take you towards other villages in different

04:16biomes, again, to encourage players to explore and move to different locations with knowing

04:23a bit more what they're going to get.
