Arsenal's Declan Rice believes his teammate, Myles Lewis-Skelly, can have a long England career in the future

00:00I see Myles, when he first broke into the team, I knew his talent straight away.

00:05He trained with us a lot last year at Arsenal, but obviously didn't really play.

00:09But I see his talent straight away.

00:11And then this year, the way he stepped up and matured over the summer,

00:14and then the way he's trained with us every day since, it's been incredible.

00:18The way he looks after himself, the way he prepares for matches.

00:23He's such a good kid, like, such, such a good kid.

00:26And he's been brought up really well. His mum's unbelievable for him.

00:29She's such a nice lady as well.

00:31So it's no surprise that he's doing really well,

00:34because he's got the right support network around him.

00:36He's got people at club that are pushing him.

00:37He's not too comfortable. He knows he needs to keep going.

00:39The other night when he knew he was starting, he didn't even know he was starting.

00:44No one knew the team until the day, but he just took it in his stride.

00:47And he played how he'd done for Arsenal all season.

00:50And look, we have so many good left-backs in the country.

00:52We can't not mention Lewis Hall, who's been unbelievable for Newcastle this year.

00:55Obviously, sure, he's been injured, but he's been unbelievable for England

00:58in an England shirt.

01:00No one's guaranteed a starting place in the England team.

01:03You need to be on it every time you come here,

01:05and you need to be able to push to start.

01:09And Myles is only 18.

01:10We can't put that emphasis on him straight away,

01:13that he's going to be England's star for the next 10 years.

01:15You don't want to put that pressure on him.

01:16Just let him keep playing, let him keep enjoying his football,

01:18and I'm sure you're going to keep seeing the best of him.

01:21And if he wants to keep being hungry and being the best he can be,

01:25then he can definitely have a long England career, for sure.
