Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called the fallout over the Istanbul mayor's arrest ‘theatrics’, saying the opposition is trying to distract from its own failings. His rival Ekrem Imamoglu, arrested only days before the start of his election campaign, remains in detention.
