00:00An unemployed man pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur on Friday to

00:06an attempted murder charge.

00:0827-year-old M. Lavindran allegedly caused injuries to two men by driving recklessly

00:14in front of an entertainment outlet along Jalan Klang Lama on January 29.

00:19The prosecution emphasized the seriousness of the offense and rationale for not offering

00:25bail to the accused, as he was only arrested more than a month later.

00:30They argued that there is a risk of the accused fleeing the country if bail is allowed.

00:35The court agreed and set April 28 for mention.

00:38Meanwhile, another accused in the case, 19-year-old M. Ranjith, also pleaded not guilty at the

00:45magistrate's court to an offense of possessing a knife when he was involved in a riot.

00:50The court granted the accused 3,800 ringgit bail with one surety and fixed May 27 for

00:57case mention.

00:59Last month, five other men were slapped with similar knife possession and rioting charges.

01:05Police said during the incident that happened at 6.18am on January 29, two vehicles plowed

01:11into a group of men, injuring three of them.
