The movie follows Mandy Gilbert (Ashley Tisdale), a high school student who is grounded by her mother (Cindy Busby) and forbidden from attending her senior class trip to Europe. Determined to go, Mandy creates a fake online profile and starts chatting with a boy named Drew (Robbie Amell), who is actually on the trip. As they communicate, Mandy and Drew start to develop feelings for each other, but things get complicated when Mandy's deception is revealed.
