00:06action on scaling back regulation and letting companies grow on the continent

00:11or risk further investment losses to the US. That's according to Markus Baerer,

00:16the Director General of Business Europe, who spoke to me earlier about what's holding companies

00:21back the most as the EU summit gets underway. It's very clear. It's always regulatory overburden.

00:28It's the cost of energy. And of course, it's also the lack of skilled labour.

00:31There's many other factors, but that's the top three. And the truth is with what is happening

00:36in the US, there is a fear that at least in the short term, this might deteriorate the situation.

00:43This might deteriorate these pull factors, which are pulling investment away from Europe.

00:49Europe can only be as strong as its economy. And this urgently needs to be taken care of.
