00:12In Malapascua, Cebu, diving is prohibited along with the shy treasure sharks.

00:22The shy treasure shark is diving.

00:26But it looks like a shy shark.

00:32This is the pelagic treasure shark.

00:35It is one of the hundreds of sharks that live in the Philippines.

00:39It can also dive in the island of Malapascua, Cebu.

00:43The treasures are rare.

00:46But of course, it helps that we have Malapascua Island, Monalchol, Kimodchol,

00:50as places where these sharks really congregate.

00:53So all you have to do is go there.

00:55But again, they are very shy.

00:57So, contrary to popular belief, they will just swim away when they see you.

01:01So, they are lucky.

01:03This is Noel Guevara, a conservation photographer and National Geographic explorer.

01:09He has visited Malapascua several times to take photos of treasure sharks.

01:15And moreover,

01:17I want to combat the misconception about sharks.

01:21In his research, he compared the people to the deep personalities of the sharks

01:27and their unique behavior.

01:29For example, why the treasure shark swims in the shallow part of Malapascua

01:34and became an attraction.

01:35His lens was able to capture the reason.

01:38I was rewarded with an incredible opportunity to show symbiotic behavior up close.

01:44You can even see the yellow parasites.

02:06That is special.

02:09Fun fact,

02:10treasures are one of the highest jumpers.

02:13And this is the first time ever that I have seen such behavior.

02:30Do not fear the presence of sharks.

02:33Because sharks are indicative of very, very healthy beings.

02:38But be scared of oceans that do not have sharks.

02:43Because that means there's no food.

02:45There's no healthy coral reef.

02:47There's no thriving ecosystem.

02:53The regular holiday of Malacanang was declared on the first day of April.

02:57It is similar to Idil Fitir or Feast of Ramadan.
