00:19DOTR wants to have a dialogue with the Manibela transport group

00:24about their plans to launch a three-day strike next week.

00:30This is a step to ensure the safety of commuters.

00:39DOTR Assistant Secretary for Road, Transport, and Non-Infrastructure,

00:46Jos Coro Jocho Reyes,

00:48directed the dialogue with the respective transport groups.

00:52DOTR hopes that instead of stopping the strike,

00:56there will be a proper discussion to maintain order

01:00and ensure that commuters will not be harmed

01:03while listening to and taking care of the needs of the jeepney driver and operator.

01:09DOTR assured that the transportation sector will listen and take care

01:15to improve the implementation of the Public Transport Modernization Program.

01:20Meanwhile, DOTR is preparing the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board or LTFRB

01:26and other government agencies

01:28to ensure that commuters will not be harmed in the possible stoppage of the strike.

01:33DOTR is also continuing its coordination with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA

01:39and local government units to provide free transportation for the public.

01:44Manivela and Sherban Marval Vena announced that the transport strike will be held on March 24, 25, and 26

01:53to discuss the consolidation of public utility vehicles.

01:57According to the LTFRB, 86% of the PUVs will be under the consolidation

02:03as part of the modernization program of the government.

02:08Here on Elliptical Road, PUVs and passengers will continue to enter workplaces and schools.

02:15As of now, the number of vehicles in the area is still wide.

02:19As a reminder to our motorists,

02:21on Thursday, vehicles ending at platforms 7 and 8 from 7 in the morning until 10 in the morning

02:29and again from 5 in the afternoon until 8 in the evening are prohibited.
