00:05such as Promises Fulfilled, who combines the brilliance of a storm cat with two-term success.

00:12A five-time great ethics winner from six furlongs to a mile and a sixteenth.

00:16Remember that mile and a sixteenth win was in the Fountain of Youth when he defeated two-year-old champion Good Magic.

00:23He also went on to win the grade one Allen Jerkins.

00:25Let's talk about speed. He led at the first call in 15 of his 17 starts,

00:29set fractions between 43.3 and 44.4 for the half mile, six times in graded stakes races.

00:38If speed is key, and we all know in American racing it is,

00:41then take a look at Promises Fulfilled's first yearlings, which sell this summer.

00:47Now, Fastest Horse of the Week. A bit unusual in that it doesn't come out of a stakes race.

00:52It was last Thursday at Belmont Park in a six furlong turf sprint.

00:57The horse's name, Outlaw Kid, co-owned by Randy Hill and Steven Vinosa of SGV Thoroughbreds.

01:06He won that allowance sprint by three and a quarter lengths with a buyer speed figure of 100.

01:12Next start for Outlaw Kid, trainer George Weaver expected to bring him back quickly.

01:17He told me this morning that he's looking at the Highlanders stakes at Woodbine on July 1st

01:22because Outlaw Kid is bred in Ontario.

01:26One of the little interesting thing about the horse's ownership,

01:29he originally was purchased for $220,000 by My Racehorse as a two-year-old in Ocala in 2021.

01:37He had a throat problem at the time of sale.

01:40The deal was with My Racehorse, if the throat problem could be cleared up in 30 days,

01:46they would keep him. If it couldn't, they had the option to give him back.

01:50There were some complications, so My Racehorse bailed out of the deal.

01:55The consigner, Steven Vinosa, who trains horses, consigns horses in Ocala, Florida,

01:59kept him along with Randy Hill, and now they are glad they did.
