00:00Having ring-fenced 800 billion euros for its Rearm Europe plan, the EU will have to spend

00:06wisely on defence and timing is everything, a lesson that Ukraine has learned in three

00:11years of war.

00:13I think Europe has to invest a lot in general in defence, just because we see how the world

00:21is uncertain right now.

00:23If you have a stock of really good but really expensive equipment, it will be depleted really

00:29soon.

00:31So drones are our way to answer big opponents.

00:37Cheap drones have been crucial, both in terms of surveillance and launching attacks ahead

00:42of using more expensive tech.

00:44The Ukrainians have driven the Russian Black Sea fleet away from the coast without the

00:49Ukrainians having a navy at all.

00:52They've used basically drones and new technologies to do it.

00:57So if you're Europe and you need to replace capabilities or develop new effects, I think

01:05the main takeaway is look at dual-use technologies.

01:09Being able to test the tech on the battlefield is also vital.

01:13And that takes time.

01:15Time is really precious right now in politics, in economy and in defence too.

01:21If you can buy some time with money, you better do it.
