00:07What does that tell you about the state of play on the ground?

00:11The leadership told them not to have town hall meetings.

00:16Well, the optics have been terrible. If you see the clips from Republican town halls, they are facing their voters

00:23and their voters are making it very clear that they're unhappy with the direction

00:27that the Republican leadership in the House is going. We are holding town halls.

00:31I'm holding a town hall Thursday night, which is sold out at Carlmont High School in Belmont.

00:38And I look forward to hearing from my voters, who also, I think, are expressing just dismay

00:44at what's happening in this country. The authoritarian moves by Trump and Musk,

00:50they are at their wit's end. I'm going to hear from them. But that is our job to listen,

00:55not just to niceties from our voters, but the reality that they're facing.

01:01And I'm sure we'll also be hearing from, I'll be hearing from Medi-Cal recipients

01:05who are very concerned about the $800 billion, which, by the way, is in the resolution.

01:10The $800 billion is coming to my committee, Energy and Commerce, and we're going to fight like hell

01:15to block those cuts.
