00:00Malacanang has identified the act of breaching the international criminal court in the case of the former President Rodrigo Duterte.

00:08The case was closed following the first appearance of the former President in the ICC this Friday.

00:14Kenneth Pacientes is in the center of the news.

00:19After his arrest, the former President Rodrigo Duterte faced the first-ever appearance

00:25in the courts of the International Criminal Court in the Netherlands.

00:28This is the same case of Crime Against Humanity that he is facing because of the extrajudicial killings

00:34that happened because of the bloody campaign against illegal drugs during his time as the President of the Philippines.

00:39According to Palace Press Officer and PCO Undersecretary Claire Castro,

00:43this is the beginning of the rollout of justice,

00:46especially since the ICC did not comply with Duterte's request for a pre-trial postponement.

00:51Undersecretary Castro is also eager to call this a fair trial

00:55because she was convinced by the hearing that Duterte's medical attention was given while he was in the detention facility.

01:02It was also confirmed that he read his rights and that he has a warrant of arrest.

01:07She refuted this in the statements of the former President's camp.

01:11First, Castro said that the country's cooperation in the Interpol was not a betrayal

01:16that resulted in Duterte's arrest.

01:18She only followed the law.

01:21The President, the government, should not betray the law.

01:27He should not betray the interests of the country.

01:31He should not betray the people who did not become victims of the IJK.

01:38It is not possible that just because he became a friend, a colleague,

01:43that he needs to answer.
