00:00I'm staying at the Regent Phu Quoc on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam and it's so

00:10beautiful here I'm tempted to stay all day but what I'm actually going to do is

00:14I'm going to head out and see what it's like around the island. The lush grounds

00:22of Regent Phu Quoc, a luxurious resort on Phu Quoc Island in Vietnam, are so

00:28peaceful you won't want to leave. And they've thought of everything here. The

00:33rooms are spectacular, the white sand beach is to die for, and the food is next

00:43level. Make sure you try the pho soup, it's a dream and traditionally served

00:48for breakfast. But beyond the resort's amazing cooking and those palm trees

00:53swaying in the heat it's well worth taking a trip around the island to see

00:58the real Vietnam. I went to a pepper farm to see how they produce pepper here

01:10on the island and had the most amazing lunch of Vietnamese pancake while

01:14sheltering from the heat in an outdoor cafe among the pepper trees.

01:20But one of my most interesting stops was at a fish sauce factory where I was

01:40able to taste different types of the umami condiment and see for myself just

01:45how important fish sauce is to the Vietnamese way of life. I'm still

01:49searching for where I can find this particular brand of sauce in Australia

01:53and when I do I'll buy it straight away because that salty sweet and meaty taste

01:59will take me right back to paradise and that white sand beach. Ah this is the

02:05life.
