00:00Look, this is a very interesting event for the Dominican Republic.
00:04I want to start my words by congratulating this important initiative
00:09to have here in the Dominican Republic, an open Dominican Republic of tennis,
00:16where we are seeing the success of what is sports tourism
00:22and how we as a country should start a path that begins to fill this void.
00:28Because we have the beaches, we have the best tourist places,
00:33we have all the elements and tools necessary for us to undertake
00:38in this new stage of sport and then start to see
00:43what are the sports disciplines that also like tennis could also do a great job.
00:48We have golf, we have basketball, we have volleyball,
00:52we have other sports that could also fill
00:57this important element and we articulate efforts with international institutions,
01:04local institutions, here for example the Copacabana,
01:07where a whole business structure has been involved to reinforce
01:12and give greater brightness and clarity to this great sports gala.
01:17I congratulate the Ministry of Tourism, the person of our dear friend David Collado,
01:22because he is also sponsoring this event greatly
01:25and how good that we can articulate efforts,
01:28the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Tourism, the private sector,
01:32some sports disciplines with their federations,
01:35for us to undertake this new path that has an impressive and incalculable future,
01:41as is sports tourism.
